Following the success of the first Red Pen Tool marking/assessment assistance software, which was built in 2009 for TAG Developments, we were asked to extend the functionality from marking digitally converted documents to enabling the annotation and marking of video material from the classroom. The result of which has been the Red Pen Tool Video (RPT Video).
The RPT Video is supplied with a video stream from a remote media server and the specific marking/assessment criteria for the particular work evidenced in the video. The custom built timeline and annotation interface allows multiple assessors to annotate the video at particular start and end points with notes and audio comments or to indicate the successful completion of particular assessment criteria.
